Wonder Woman
Jays Rating: A. So good blind people like it!
Actors: Chris Pine / Gal Gadot
Director: Patty Jenkins
DC Comics brings the first major female superhero to the big screen in the action adventure, Wonder Woman. This original story begins on the secluded Island Themysbira where a young Amazon named Diana aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) lives with her mom Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and other Amazon women. It is paradise on the island until a plane crashes into the sea with American passenger, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) having to be rescued by Diana. There is a brief fight with Germans (Yes, it’s brief because the Amazons kick their butts.) who were trying to kill Trevor. After the fight, he tells the women about the war that is waging in the outside world and the even bigger threat of poison gases to be used. When Trevor leaves to go back home Diana goes along taking her bracelets, sword, shield, and lasso of truth which she used on Trevor when he first landed on the island. When they travel back to London, Trevor and Diana begin to search for Maru aka Doctor Poison (Elena Anaya) who plans to kill millions with some form of deadly gas. Now it’s time for Wonder Woman to fight the German army – specifically, a German named Ludendorff (Danny Huston) who was given some sort of serum to make him stronger. This has everything a superhero film should have and it’s really a template on how all movies should be made. It has an outstanding script with fantastic character development and a cohesive story. There is great chemistry between Gadot and Pine and even a little romance that never feels forced. Gadot is perfect as an inquisitive and naive Diana and also a confident and strong Wonder Woman. Don’t worry, there is plenty of action and humor in this movie and there are no scenes where the story lags. This is the most anticipated film of the summer and it doesn’t disappoint. I’m giving it an A rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals. I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
