Blind Dating

Jays Rating:

If you think you would enjoy the humor in seeing a blind guy running down a hill into a tree (no it’s not me) then you will probably like the light-hearted comedy Blind Dating. Chris Pines plays a visually impaired guy who is looking for a meaningful relationship but his slimy brother played by Eddie Kaye Thomas keeps setting him up with shallow women. (That doesn’t sound so bad) He is just about to give up on love when he meets an East Indian girl played by Addtiny Anjali who works at his eye doctor’s office but circumstances keep them from staying together. This film was funny at times but could have been much more. It’s full of stereotypes, it’s not original and it’s so predictable. All of that is expected in a movie like this and a lot of the situations that take place are things that really happen to a blind individual. Maybe I should say everything except telling the blind guy to pick up dog poop and saying it is candy. (At least that never happened to me. (Well except maybe the time — that’s another story.) Since I can identify with some of this movie I will give it a C rating.

This movie has been given a PG13 rating by the MPAA

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
