War of the Worlds
Steven Spielberg directs the updated adaptation film War of the Worlds which was originally written by H.G. Wells. A working man from New Jersey played by Tom Cruise has his life turned upside down when aliens called the tripods invade the earth and begin vaporizing people with their death rays. He takes his 10 year old daughter played by Dakota Fanning and his teenage son and run for their lives while the Tripods cause chaos all over the planet. This film is very intense and shocking primarily because of the fantastic sound and visual affects. Dakota Fanning is brilliant and because of the acting between her and cruise you do care about the Characters. Unfortunately some of the coincidences and scenarios are so far out I had to roll my eyes during some scenes. Okay since I could only hear them I had to roll my ears. This film is very entertaining (not for the kids) and I’m giving it a B rating.
This movie has been given a PG13 rating by the MPAA
Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
