A very funny animated Disney film, The Emperor’s New Groove is the story of an Emperor being turned into a llama. Emperor Kuzco (voice-David Spade) is a spoiled emperor who wants to tear down a nearby village to build a water resort for himself. In a foiled murder attempt, his power-hungry evil ex-administrator Yzma (voice-Eartha Kitt) accidentally turns him into a llama so she can steal the throne. Yzma orders her inept assistant Kronk to take Kuzco to the woods and finish him off. Kronk trips and drops the bag containing Kuzco onto a peasant’s cart, and figures that’s good enough. (Kronk’s not the killing type – he’d rather cook) Later, when Kuzco emerges from the bag, he finds himself staring into the face a gentle llama herder named Pacha (voice-John Goodman) in the middle of the village he was planning to tear down. This is where the real fun begins. With Pacha’s help, Kuzco finds his way back to his kingdom and outsmarts the wicked Yzma. This is a movie the whole family will enjoy. It’s a warm, light-hearted comedy with just enough action and visual effects to keep the kids interested. For those of you who have seen this movie, “Squeak-itty Squeak Squeak Squeaker !” I give this movie a B rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
