Seth MacFarlane returns as the writer, director, and the voice of the fowl-mouthed teddy bear in the comedy, Ted 2. Ted (voice of Seth MacFarlane) marries his equally potty-mouthed girlfriend Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) and a year later they are fighting and throwing things at each other. Naturally, they make a decision to have a child because it will help their marriage. Since Ted is a teddy bear and can’t father a child, he asks his best friend John (Mark Wahlberg) to be a sperm donor. (You don’t even want to know the problems with this process.) They soon figure out that Tami-Lynn can’t have a baby, so the couple begins the adoption process which requires an interview. The agency turns down their request because Ted isn’t human. Ted has to have a court declare that he is a person and not someone’s property. They hire a young, eager civil rights attorney named Samantha Jackson (Amanda Seyfried) and with the help of an older more experienced attorney named Patrick Meighan (Morgan Freeman) Ted tries to prove his humanity in several court scenes. (I didn’t know you cursing was allowed in a courtroom.) Of course, Donny (Giovanni Ribisi) is back as a janitor working for Hasbro with a ridiculous scheme to kidnap Ted so he can cut him open to see what makes him so real. It’s no surprise that there is plenty of crude humor and so much bad language that I found myself wishing I were deaf. At least, until the scene in the sperm bank – blindness was definitely a blessing.) Be prepared for several celebrity cameos that pop up at the most, well let’s say, interesting times. Amanda Seyfried was excellent with her sweet voice and bubbly personality to counter the vulgar Ted. This film isn’t as good as the first movie, it drags a little during the court scenes, and Seth MacFarlane only uses his B comedy material for the script. This film lacks any of the originality we enjoyed in the first movie and I’m giving it a B- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals. I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
