The Watch

The Sci-fi, comedy The Watch which includes an all-star comedy team initially looked like it would be really funny or at least entertaining. When the store manager of Costco’s played by Ben Stiller hears his security guard is killed he assembles a neighborhood watch team. Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade play 3 men who join the neighborhood watch to have a guy’s night out but end up having to save the town from Aliens who want to take over the earth. This film was actually a little violent with some humorous moments and several raunchy scenes. The good news is that it really wasn’t that bloody but unfortunately the crude sight gags weren’t that funny either. This movie began with possibility but soon began to lose momentum especially if you can’t see the action. (My wife said it’s not that good if you can see the action) I’m not sure if it is the script or directing but our 3 lead characters try their hardest to make us laugh but something fell short.(Oh yes it was the jokes) I’m guessing the target audience is for ages 18 to about 24 which is probably the age of the writers. The action scenes were interesting and I did laugh a couple times so it wasn’t a complete flop. I’m giving this action-comedy a C- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
