The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Based on the Swedish novel by Stieg Larrson, Steven Fincher directs the raw intriguing, drama-thriller The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Daniel Craig plays a journalist who is hire to solve a 40 year old mystery concerning the disappearance of the niece of a millionaire played by Christopher Plummer. The journalist receive help from a tattooed computer hacker played by Rooney Mara an together they are entangled in a web of secrecy, corruption and crime. This is an unnerving tension filled movie that believe it or not is actually a dialogue driven film. There are several scenes of nudity and even a couple brutal rape scenes. Please don’t take the kids to this movie unless you want them to have nightmares. (I think I even had a bad dream myself but that was because of the scene of the revenge of the rape) Rooney Mara is absolutely superb as the vulnerable yet violent and angry woman with several issues. Director Steven Fincher creates an intense atmosphere with a fantastic score, intriguing characters and a chilling story. I hear this film which is an adaption of the book is as good or better then the Swedish movie but since it was in subtitles I will never know. I’m giving this outstanding film an A rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
