30 Minutes or Less
Bombs, guns and flame throwers along with fast cars are what you will find in the action, comedy 30 Minutes or Less. In this film loosely based on a true story Jesse Eisenberg plays a Pizza delivery guy who hates his job and has to make his deliveries in 30 minutes or less in his beat up Mustang. During his last delivery of the day two inapt criminals played by Danny Mcbride and Nick Swartson kidnap him strap a bomb to him and tell him if he doesn’t rob a bank and deliver one hundred thousand dollars to them the bomb will blow up. This is one of those films the college crowd will enjoy. It has some action, comedy, nudity and lots of bad language. Jesse Eisenberg is absolutely great playing his pizza delivery character and the rest of the cast isn’t bad either. Of course the roles aren’t very challenging but it looks like they may be doing some improvisation which does works part of the times. The problem is that the movie isn’t funny enough to be a good comedy and it isn’t thrilling enough to be a high quality action film. It does have a sufficient amount of F bombs to earn my line “I wish I was deaf instead of blind”. It does have an adequate amount of entertainment to keep it from sliding below a C rating.
This movie has been given a R rating by the MPAA
Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
