Water for Elephants

The big question is how is Robert Pattinson’s acting in the drama based on Sara Gruen’s novel Water for Elephants. This story takes place in 1931 when a young man played by Robert Pattinson drops out of veterinarian school to join a circus when his parents are killed in a car accident. His job is to take care of Rosy the elephant but falls in love with the beautiful star performer played by Reese Witherspoon who is also the wife of the cruel circus manager played by Christoph Waltz. I loved the feel and atmosphere of circus life portrayed during the great depression in this film. I also heard the costumes and sets were beautiful and that’s great if you can see them. Christoph Waltz is fantastic but not the biggest star of the movie. No it’s not Robert Pattinson but Rosy the elephant who is not only the largest actor but the only performer we feel any emotion or sympathy. Robert Pattinson does an adequate job but there just is no romantic tension between him and Reese Witherspoon. I wish more films were made this proficient in showing this time period and I’m giving it a B- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
