Country Song

If you love country music more then great cinema then the drama Country Strong is the film for you. This story begins with a country music super star played by Gwyneth Paltrow being taken out of an alcoholic rehab center by her husband-manager played by Tim McGraw to restart her music career again after being sidelined with a breakdown. While in rehab she meets an aspiring country singer played by Garrett Hedlund who she asks to be her opening act along with a little hanky panky on the side while her husband asks a former beauty queen turned country singer played by Leighton meestor to also join the tours opening acts. This film has every country music cliché I can think of in the story. It has betrayal, broken hearts, drinking, fights, a pick-up truck, a train, and to top it off the movie even ends like an old country song. There is a good balance of music and story and thank goodness it does have a fantastic sound track. The story is basically Gwyneth Paltrow drinking then sobriety then drinking again mixed up with some cheating on her husband and then o yes a lot of crying. Her performance actually is fine but I would rather hear the music. (Of course what would you expect from someone who has his hearing and not his sight) Oh yes, Tim Mcgraw is the only professional singer in the cast and he doesn’t sing a note. This isn’t a bad film but not necessarily a good one either and so I’ll give it a C rating.

This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
