The Other Guys
Jays Rating: B. I'm glad I could hear it.
Actors: Eva Mendes / Mark Wahlberg / Will Ferrell
Director: Adam McKay
Car chase scenes and shoot-outs blended in with some hilarious dialogue and sight gags are what you will find in the action-comedy The Other Guys. Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson play two hot shot detectives in the NYPD who are the envy of the cops on the police department. When they are killed jumping off a building two other less heroic detectives played by Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg who want to be the new top cops begin to investigate a case nobody else wants to mess with leading to all sorts of problems. (What a big surprise) Yes this is more or less your typical buddy cop movies but with one exception and that is more laughs then usual. Not only was the dialogue funny between Ferrell and Wahlberg but a hot Eva Mendes who plays the wife of Ferrell’s character is also very entertaining. (Of course except for me none of the men were even listening to her dioluge) One of the possible problems with an action comedy like this is there is only so much that can be filmed before it becomes stale. A little more editing would have dropped a few minutes off the running time and cut out some of the few non-humorous scenes. This is one of the better comedies of the year and I’m giving it a B rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
