Letters to Juliet

Jays Rating:

If you are looking for a film that can be enjoyed by both young and old you won’t want to miss the romantic comedy Letters to Juliet. Amanda Seyfried plays a writer who is traveling to Italy with her fiancé played by Gael Garcéa and finds an unanswered letter to Shakespeare’s Juliet about a missed rendezvous with an Italian boy. She finds out the letter was written 50 years ago by an English woman played by Vanessa Redgrave and with another letter the two women meet in Verona to track down the older woman’s missing love. Yes this film is formulaic and I knew the ending in the first 20 minutes but I still loved it. It’s funny, sweet, charming and it stars a wonderful Vanessa Redgrave. People who can actually see will love the beautiful Italian scenery but I will have to be satisfied with a feel good movie. I do enjoy films with twists and turns no matter which way they go but I also like watching simple stories with happy endings and I’m giving this movie a B rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
