The timing is perfect for a movie about corrupt banks and financial corporations in the political, thriller The International. Clive Owen plays an Interpol agent and Naomi Watts plays a New York assistant attorney who is investigating one of the worlds most powerful banking institutes lead by irresponsible executives. (So what’s new, can you say bailout) They are involved in arms brokering, money laundering, financing a rebel army and then kill any government agent that crosses their path. Clive Owen is excellent in this film and all other performances are very good also. The idea for the story is intelligent and original but it just lacks passion. The tempo is either super fast or slows to a crawl. Also I know I’m blind but even I could see the borrowed action scenes from the Bourne films. If you can see I’m sure you will enjoy the shootout in the Guggenheim Museum. (I still can’t figure out how did a troop of killers sneak into a museum with all of their automatic weapons?) I’m giving this adult action film a C+ rating.
This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA
Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
