Bride Wars

Two best friends become rivals when they are to be married on the same day in the chick flick Bride Wars. Anne Hathaway plays a caring middle school teacher and Kate Hudson plays a ruthless attorney who has been best friends from childhood and has always looked forward to their wedding day. They both go to the same wedding planner played by Candice Bergen who through a clerical error books their weddings on the same day leading to both of them trying to sabotage each others weddings. Every time I think about this plot it seems extremely stupid. (Maybe it’s because I’m a guy and I just don’t see that this could actually happen between women.) This is supposed to be a romantic-comedy but it isn’t romantic and I don’t remember laughing out loud one time. Most jokes fall flat, the sight-gags are unoriginal and the behavior is what you would see in grade school. If Hudson and Hathaway weren’t so charming this film would be one for the toilet and I’m obviously not saying that because they are cute (per my wife) since I can’t see them anyway. I must say I was some-what entertained so I’m giving this film a C- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
