If you think ghosts roaming the streets of Manhattan is funny you will want to see the comedy Ghost Town. Ricky Gervais plays an annoying rude dentist who can suddenly see ghosts after he dies for seven minutes and is brought back to life. (Don’t you hate it when that happens?) Greg Kinnear is a ghost who wants the dentist to break up the impending marriage of his widow played by Tea’ Leoni but after he sees her several times he begins to fall in love with her himself. This film is amusing and all actors do great in these comedic roles even though they aren’t comedians. The film begins with hilarious scenes between Gervais and Kinnear but the tempo slows down tremendously in the third act when it turns into a formulaic romantic comedy. It wasn’t really needed and maybe it was to tried and save money but the ghosts aren’t bloody and scary like films such as the Six Sense. (Of course it wouldn’t make any difference to me anyway.) Even though it had some corny lines at the n I really enjoyed this film and I’m going to give it a B- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
