Marvel Comics brings it’s most unconventional super hero to the big screen with the horror, action film Ghost Rider. Nicolas Cage plays a motorcycle stunt rider who sells his soul to the devil to save his father from dieing of cancer. Years later he meets up with his ex-girl friend played by Eva Mendes who is now a beautiful reporter and during this same time the devil revisits him and transforms him into the flaming skeletal Ghost Rider. (I hear Eva Mendes was hotter then Ghost Riders fiery head.) This film is full of non-stop action and Cage give an adequate performance even with a sorry script. It has underwritten scenes, missing plot points and most of all you can care less about the characters. I’m sure Ghost Rider fans will love this movie but the flaming horse, the demonic voices and red eyes are so ludicrous that I bet my eyes were also turning red. (They still didn’t work though.) This film is moderately entertaining and for that reason I will give it a generous D+ rating.
This movie has been given a PG13 rating by the MPAA
Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
