Inside Man

Spike Lee more or less leaves his social commentary out this time when he directs the crime thriller Inside Man. Denzel Washington plays a tough cop who is called in when a Wall Street bank is robbed and hostages are held by an intelligent bank robber played by Clive Owen. Jodie Foster plays a power broker who is sent into the bank to secure something that is hidden in one of the safety deposit boxes for the Bank owner. Washington and Owen performances are fantastic and Foster was great for the few moments she appeared on screen. I liked that Spike Lee sprinkled some humor in this thriller showing off his original directing style but the plot twists were a little weak, the end seem to last to long (kind of like some of my reviews) and of course he always has more bad language then is needed. At least the language wasn’t so bad this time that I needed to be deaf as well as blind. This film is worth watching and I’m giving it a B- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
