A film that was originally made for an Academy Award nomination (until they actually looked at it) is the mystery crime film Freedomland. One day a hysterical woman played by Julianne Moore stumbles into a police station with her hands bleeding claiming a man just hijacked her car with her 4 year old son inside. A detective played by Samuel L. Jackson begins investigating the case while trying to cope with a wave of racial tension in the projects. The highest praise I can give this movie was Samuel L. Jackson’s performance was adequate. That’s it and the rest is down hill. It’s uninspired, boring, and worst of all the editing and directing is terrible. The story is fragmented with one scene not having anything to do with the next and characters appearing out of the blue and disappearing again. I wish I could have disappeared but since I’m blind and couldn’t find the door I was stuck there. I’m going to give this over dramatic thriller (I wasn’t thrilled at all) a D rating.

This movie has been given a PG rating by the MPAA

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
