Steven Spielberg directs a movie based on a true story about the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. Eric Bana plays a Mossad Israeli officer who assembles a team of Mossad agents to hunt down the terrorists group called Black September in retaliation for the slayings. They begin killing with guns and bombs but soon grow tired of the cycle of bloodshed and the duty of revenge takes a toll on their lives. This intriguing film looks realistic with several gripping scenes. The story runs smooth with the strong hand of Spielberg at the helm but it lacks that key ingredient needed to be considered a masterpiece. It actually feels mors like a violent Mission Impossible but I didn’t see Tom Cruise. (Since I can’t see anybody else either I guess that isn’t saying much). I’m giving this political thriller a B+ rating.
