Fun with Dick and Jane
Jays Rating: C. I had one eye open.
Actors: Jim Carrey / Tea Leoni
Director: Dean Parisot
The latest remake at the theater now is an amusing film from 1977 called Fun with Dick and Jane. Jim Carrey plays a wealthy executive who loses his high paying job when the company he works for goes belly up. Both he and his wife played by Tea Leoni turn to armed robbery to maintain their affluent life style. The editing in this film was poor, the script was underdeveloped and without Jim Carrey it would have been average at best. Fortunately, Carrey’s manic style of humor is what the movie needs and at times I was laughing so hard I couldn’t see straight. (Okay, I can’t see anyway) The laughter is infectious and I especially enjoyed the shock collar on their dog spot. I need to find one of those collars. This film could have been much better but I enjoyed it and I’m giving it a C+ rating.
This movie has been given a PG13 rating by the MPAA
Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
