Just Friends

If you enjoy hilarious films that are best experienced if you leave your brain at home you won’t want to miss the romantic comedy Just Friends. Ryan Reynolds plays a famous record producer whose plane makes an unscheduled stop in his home town while he is escorting a spoiled pop star singer played by Anna Faris. While in a bar that night he meets his friend from High school played by Amy Smart who he has always loved and now thinks he has a chance to be more then just friends since he has lost over 100 pounds. This film is one dimensional, predictable and shallow but who cares. The jokes are non-stop, the slap stick is funny and the whole movie is entertaining. I even enjoyed the “loser from school who gets the girl” plot. (Of course I couldn’t identify with that scenario). Even though this film isn’t going to win any Academy awards I really enjoyed it and I’m using the excuse that “I’m blind and what do you expect” to give it a B rating.
