The Island

There is no shortage of action movies and with numerous explosions, several car chases and an Arial pursuit you won’t be disappointed in the Sci-fi film The Island. It’s 2019 and Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson are 2 inmates contained in a facility protected from the alleged contaminated planet. When they find out that they are really clones to be used for spare human parts, they go on the run pursued by a bounty hunter played by Djimon Hounsou. This film has an interesting premise and reminds me of the old 70’s movie Logan’s Run. It begins with good drama and plot development and ends with non-stop action. It is broken up with humor, corny dialogue and to much product endorsements. (Since I couldn’t see I was immune to wanting to buy Cadillac, X-box, Aquafina and so on.) This movie could have used a few less explosions but it was still entertaining and I’m giving it a C rating.

This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
