If the kids like animated movies and animals they will definitely be asking to see the family film Madagascar. A lion with the voice of Ben Stiller, a zebra with the voice of Chris Rock, a giraffe with the voice of David Schwimmer and a hippopotamus with the voice of Jada Pinkett Smith are all pampered animals in the New York Central Park Zoo. When the four friends find themselves in the wild on Madagascar after a series of events they have to learn what it’s like to fend for themselves. This is a cute, charming, witty film with a perfect cast for the voices of the animals. On the downside it’s hard to feel a connection with the characters and the plot is so thin even I could see through it. That doesn’t matter because it’s still entertaining and the kids will love it anyway so I’m giving it a B- rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
