The Amityville Horror

As if we don’t have enough remakes we now have a new version of a horror movie based on a true story from the 70’s entitled The Amityville Horror. It’s based on a true story for about the first three minutes of the film. Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George play a couple who move into a house with their 3 children one year after six people were killed there. For the next 28 days they are terrorized by a demonic force that has them seeing ghosts, moving furniture and locking them in the house. If your pregnant, have a heart condition or you can’t sleep by yourself at night don’t worry this movie is safe to see. It’s not only not scary but you don’t care about the characters and there is no logic to this so called true story. For example when they are locked in the house they run by several windows without throwing anything through the fragile glass and jumping out themselves. This horror film may be okay for a few jumps but I’m giving it a D rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
