If you are a 20 something woman and want to see a chick flick about the problems of young women going to college in 1953 you may want to see the drama Mona Lisa Smile. Julia Roberts plays an arts history instructor at an all girl school called Wellesley college. The girls are bright and intelligent, but Wellesley college is designed to teach the girls how to marry well and how to treat their husbands instead of preparing them for a professional career. I told my wife I like how it told women how to treat their husbands. She said she likes how the college taught them on how to pick a husband. She won that one. This is an okay film. It wasn’t funny, had no big drama and it just left me feeling flat. This isn’t one of Julia Roberts’s better movies and I’m giving it a C rating.

This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA
