The Matrix Reloaded

If you like action, special effects and the original Matrix you will probably like the sequel, Matrix Reloaded. This science fiction film takes place in the future where the humans live under ground in a city called Zion. (My first thought is where do all of these people bathe and what do they eat?) Neo (Keanu Reeves) and some of his fellow humans find out that within seventy-two hours the machines that inhabit the surface of the Earth are sending two hundred and fifty thousand probes to locate and destroy Zion. Once again Neo has to go into the virtual reality matrix to stop the machines. He does this with the help of two virtual reality programs called Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne). While in the matrix, Neo or “The One” (that’s what he is called in the Matrix) is constantly battling renegade computer programs like Agent Smith in spectacular fight and chase scenes. Okay, I hear they are spectacular. In the meantime, Neo dreams that Trinity is destined to meet some sort of mysterious fate. This sums up the whole confusing movie, but that doesn’t matter because this sci-fi is not about the story, it’s about the special affects and there are plenty of them. It’s one fight scene after another with a car chase in between. There is so little dialogue in this film they could have written the script on the end of my cane. With stupid phrases like, “I am only who I am,” I’m glad the dialogue was limited. I heard some of the special effects looked cheesy and cartoonish but overall the bullet time sequences, acrobatic twists and turns in midair and running up walls are supposed to look better then ever. For all of you action fans I’m going to give this movie a C rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
