If you don’t mind blood and gore, you won’t want to miss the best movie of the year. A fabulous visual telling of a real-life event that took place on Oct. 3, 1993, the exciting war-drama Black Hawk Down. Staff Sargent Matt Eversmann (Josh Hardnet) and Lt. Colonel Danny McKnight (Tom Sizemore) lead a group of Army Rangers into the city of Mogadishu, Somalia to capture two Somalia warlords. The mission was to be a simple one, but it’s soon in jeopardy when two Black Hawk Helicopters are shot down and the Rangers try to rescue the pilots. Within an hour of entering the city thousands of Somalians surround the 100 Rangers and the 18-hour fight for their life begins. Ridley Scott directs another masterpiece and one of the best war movies of all time. It’s violent, yet realistic and as the story continues the tension builds. The music (it involves beating of war drums) helps build suspense along with the chattering of machine guns, the screaming of wounded s oldiers, and the explosions of rockets and missiles. I obviously didn’t mind the blood and guts, but it was so loud when I finally exited the theater I think I was deaf as well as blind. If you don’t mind realistic battle scenes I highly recommend this film and give it an A rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
