If you like mystery, suspense, and intrigue, you won’t want to miss the best thriller of the year, Along Came A Spider. Jezzie Flannigan (Monica Potter) is a secret service agent, who for the last 3 years has been protecting the 12-year-old daughter of Congressman Thomas Dunn. When the young girl Megan is kidnapped while under the protection of Agent Flannigan, Detective Alex Cross (Morgan Freeman) is enlisted to help find the girl. Both Jezzie and Alex are bewildered by how Megan was taken out of her classroom completely unnoticed. The kidnapper eventually asks for 12 million dollars in diamonds and demands that Alex deliver them alone. In a silly yet entertaining action scene he runs from pay telephone to pay telephone receiving instructions from the kidnapper on which telephone to run to next. At one point, Alex thinks it’s over when a stranger answers the telephone before he can pick up the receiver. Don’t worry all is not lost. Alex happens to be standing by a garbage can that happens to have a cell phone inside and it happens to ring at the perfect time. Of course when he answers, it’s the kidnapper. Isn’t that convenient? He eventually drops off the diamonds and thinks he will get the little girl back. When the kidnapper finally meets Alex, we learn something very unusual. This is a good solid film with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. In fact, I was so excited I fell off my seat twice. This is a thrilling story with a great ending and I give it an A rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
