The latest “Nick Flick to hit theaters is Gone in 60 Seconds; A how-to guide for stealing cars. Randall “Memphis” Raines (Nicolas Cage) is a retired car thief who hears a rumor that his younger brother Kip (Giovanni Ribisi) is in trouble with a local gangster. Memphis finds out where Kip is being held and makes a deal to steal 50 cars in 72 hours in return for Kip’s life. Memphis spends the next 60 hours putting together a team of car thieves which includes old buddies and an ex-girl friend named Sarah (Angelina Jolie). Obviously, Memphis was not too concerned about his brother. Finally, after two-thirds of the movie drag by, they finally begin to steal the cars. They stole BMW’s, Corvette’s, Mercedes’, and Hugo’s. (Okay, you got me. They didn’t steal any Hugo’s.) The last car Memphis tries to steal is a ’67 Shelby Mustang. The police, who have been dutifully chasing him throughout the movie, have finally found him and the ending is an adrenal ine rush. Buckle up for this one! This film is full of fast-paced fun, high-gear action, and even a few laughs. Don’t expect a deep plot or any underlying philosophy. Just try to keep your foot off the gas pedal when you leave the theater. In fact, I attended the movie with my daredevil brother and as he sped out of the parking lot, for a split second I thought that blindness really is a blessing. This movie is a fun ride and I’m giving it a B rating.

This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA
