Jays Rating:

An action-packed movie you may want to see this week is, Armageddon. In this movie a huge asteroid is heading toward earth and will impact within 18 days. Not again – didn’t this just happen in another movie? The only way to save the earth is for two space shuttles to land on the asteroid, drill a hole 800 feet down, and drop in a nuclear warhead. No problem! Harry Stanford, played by Bruce Willis, and his ragtag group of oil well-drillers are asked by NASA to ride along in the shuttles and drill the hole in the asteroid. Macho men that they are they jump at the opportunity to become instant heroes. Although quite a bit of action takes place on a Russian space station where the shuttles refuel before heading toward the asteroid, most of the action occurs during a meteor storm while Harry and his men are trying to drill the hole. During these action scenes, there is so much screaming and yelling that had a difficult time understanding what was happening-kind of like when I’m home with my wife! (Just kidding, honey.) This film offers something for everyone; it’s full of action, romance, tears, humor, and it sounds as though it has great special effects. My son enjoyed this movie and said that Harry’s teenage daughter was “babe-a-licious” and deserves an A rating – so I give this movie a B.

This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
