The Perfect Murder

This week, if you don t have anything better to do and you need to escape the heat, go see The Perfect Murder. In this movie, Michael Douglas is an investment broker named Steve, who plans to kill his wife Emily, played by Gwyneth Paltrow. Steve is intelligent, manipulative, and determined to blackmail his wife s lover into murdering her. The setup is perfect. Steve arranges the exact time and place where Emily will stand motionless, while her boyfriend tries to administer the killing blow – of course he blunders the murder. (I know I m blind, but I m confident I could have killed her with one arm tied behind my back but what would we have done for the next two hours?) The rest of the suspense is dedicated to Emily trying to figure out who is trying to kill her and why. She has one hundred million dollars in her name and she is cheating on her husband you do the math. Although predictable and slow at times, this movie isn t a total loss. Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow have a visible chemistry that even I could see. I give this movie a C rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
