If you enjoy listening to 50’s show tunes and even more contemporary fast paced music with horns and drums you will probably fall in love with the Musical Burlesque. Christina Aguilera is a small town girl from Iowa who travels to Los Angeles to live her dream singing and dancing. She enters the Burlesque Lounge where she meets the owner played by Cher and begs and works for the chance to sing, show her legs and in the end save the lounge. (Did I mention this is a strip club that had no stripping) I’m going to jump right in to the negatives about this film because there are a couple small points I have to mention. The main problem and the thing I also enjoyed was the very simple story line. Everything is a cliché and the romance between Twilight star Cam Gigandet and Christina Aguilera is really weak. I had to throw out the obvious but who really cares about it when this film is all about the costumes, dance and music. I couldn’t see the costumes and dance numbers but my wife could and said they were fantastic but I can comment on the music. Can I say toe tapping, energetic, fun and just magnificent. You can tell I loved it and with the plot so simple it was easy for me and any other movie goer to enjoy. This may not be award winning cinema but most people will love it as I did and I’m giving it a B+ rating.

This movie has been given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
