Princess Diaries 2

Director Gary Marshall brings more of the same fun from the country of Genovia in the family film Princess Diaries, Royal Engagement. Its five years after the first Princess Diaries and the queen played by Julie Andrews tells her granddaughter played by Anne Hathaway that she is to be the new queen. The only problem is that the princess needs to be married within 30 days so she begins looking for an available bachelor while practicing her archery, waving to the crowds and riding side saddle on a horse. This is a cute movie with a charming story, some funny site gags and Julie Andrews sings for the first time since her throat operation. She sounded okay but it didn’t sound anything like the Sound of Music to me. This film is nothing spectacular but I enjoyed it and I’m giving it a B- rating.
