If you’re in the mood for a little suspense, a reasonable amount of violence and a lot of excitement, check out the psychological thriller, Don’t Say a Word. Dr. Nathan Conrad (Michael Douglas) is a psychiatrist who is assigned an eighteen year old mentally unstable girl named Elizabeth as an emergency case. Dr. Conrad is briefly introduced to Elizabeth, and is headed home for Thanksgiving when tragedy strikes. No, his wife didn’t burn the Thanksgiving turkey. If that would be the case, tragedy would strike me every Thanksgiving. Instead, Dr. Conrad wakes up Thanksgiving morning and realizes that his 8-year-old daughter has been kidnapped. The kidnappers want Dr. Conrad to go back to the hospital and get Elizabeth to reveal where a ten million-dollar jewel has been hidden. Oh, I forgot. The kidnappers want the information by five o’clock that day or they’ll kill Dr. Conrad’s daughter. Keep in mind that Elizabeth is catatonic. Can you say impossible? Not when it’s a movie. He rushes to Elizabeth and begins to break through to her, but he’s running out of time. The kidnappers continually threaten to harm his daughter if he doesn’t meet the deadline. Dr. Conrad tells them he will take Elizabeth to the Jewel’s hiding place and that’s when the excitement really begins. This film has good acting, an exciting story line and a few scary scenes. I really enjoyed this movie, but it could have been even better with just a little more creativity. I give this exciting film a B rating.

Although I am blind, I can appreciate a good movie as well as sighted individuals.
I rely more on a good story line than special effects.
